For thoes of you who were wondering theme, and colors in order to dress accordingly, we will be having a 1940's WWII-esque Americana themed wedding. Colors are Red, White and dark dark navy blue (almost black). Feel free to dress according to color, era, style, what have you. If you need sites of inspiration, here are a few of my personal favorites.

I did it my way.
As wedding plans have become well underway, I just want to take this opperitunity to talk a little bit about my decisions, inspirations, and the general direction I have taken with my nuptials. Since I was a child, I have been a sucker for nostolgia and sentiments (she git it from her papa). My life, as I see it, has been an ongoing story eqipped with symbols, instances and memories with meaning, and people who have become tangible characters in my life. With anything important and life changing that I do, I try and connect all of these things back to it in order to make my life a well rounded and substantial affair. One that I can always look back on with depth and meaning, with a personal flair that I added all on my own. I also take pride in a very distinct and signature style that I have, and try to incorperate it into everything I do. So much to the point that you know when something is "So Sophia".
With this all being said, I just wanted to state the fact that I have not consulted bridal magazines, made decisions based on status quo or complete tradition, nor have I disregarded what is in my heart simply because my friends or family do not share my vision. I have concieved this entire event from the workings of my own imagination and every choice made is near and dear to me. There is a reason and story behind everything from the ceremony site, to the reception hall- the bridesmaids looks to the fact that I have a "all hand on deck"(Excuse the military reference ;]) reception where loved ones get to use their talents and contribute in every way. I am to a point where I am not only over caring what other people think or advise, but I am proud of the way I am putting this wedding together. No matter how it turns out, I can always hold faith in the fact that I did do it my way--and that alone will mean more to me than the event itself, because it's my heart, my soul, my dreams, my marriage, my life.
